The Transition to Practice (T2P) program

This site is a central repository for the Transition to Perioperative  Practice Program (T2PPP) - lntraoperative
Nursing module. It includes the NSW Health lntraoperative nursing orientation
training workbooks, clinical competency assessments and learning resources for
nurses working in the intraoperative role within  the operating theatre.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Apply the principles of legal and ethical practice and documentation requirements when providing safe, efficient patient care within the intraoperative nurse  role

 2.  Acquire basic fundamental and core principles of intraoperative nursing practice, to incorporate into clinical nursing management  of patients.

 3.  Enhance the patients surgical outcome through the acquisition of knowledge and skills, in order to provide safe patient care of a high standard

 4.  Develop critical thinking, clinical decision making, reflection and trouble shooting skills during skills acquisition and improvement  of clinical practice

Learning outcome:

1.  Apply principles of legal and ethical practice and documentation requirements when providing safe, efficient patient care
    within the Anaesthetic nurse role.

2.  Acquire basic fundamental and core principles of anaesthetic nursing practice, to incorporate into clinical nursing
    management of patients.

3.  Enhance the patients surgical outcome through the acquisition of knowledge and skills in order to provide safe patient
    care of a high standard.
